Jewelry Care

ROSCE products are Vermeil jewelry. It is 925 sterling silver that have been expertly plated with gold, known in American English by the French term "vermeil". A product can only be marked as "vermeil' if the sterling silver base is plated with gold of not less than 10 carat fineness, that is of substantial thickness and a minimum thickness equivalent to 2.5 microns of fine gold.

Our vermeil jewelry does not tarnish. However, we recommend against having your jewelry come into any contact with chemicals such as perfume, creams, deodorant, cosmetics, hair products, chlorine (pool) and salt water (beach). This is to prevent the vermeil jewelry from having its gold layer depleted. Remove jewelry prior to exercising, swimming and going to the pool/sauna/spa/bed.

Due to the nature of the jewelry, depletion of the gold layer will occur over time. This is dependent on a number of factors such as the acidity of your skin and the way the jewelry has been looked after. Excessive sweat and body oil could be a factor as well.

We recommend wiping your jewelry after wear. Microfiber polishing cloths, cotton balls and jewelry wipes can be used. Do not let your jewelry remain wet in the open air.  Make sure your jewelry is completely dry before putting it away for storage.

When not in use, store the jewelry back in its individual pouch or an airtight bag. Keeping your jewelry as dry as possible will extend its color and luster.

While the chains and hoops that come along with the jewelry are fine, excessive tugging can result in distorted links and bends.
